This Epiphone Casino is a Made In Japan model produced by the Terada Gakki factory in 1987. The guitar features a fully hollow body and P-90 pickups, distinguishing it from the earlier Matsumoku-made models and later Korean versions.Ā The original Gibson-made Epiphone Casino production in the US ended in 1970. The model reappeared as part of the Japanese domestic market (JDM) lines, initially manufactured by the Matsumoku factory.Ā In 1987, Yamano Gakki obtained the Epiphone Japan dealership and began producing a limited range of Epiphone Japan semi-acoustic models in cooperation with Gibson. The Terada Gakki factory was contracted to manufacture these instruments, including the Casino. These models are identified by an "orange label" visible through the f-hole and are renowned for their high quality Japanese craftsmanship, often featuring specific construction details like a neck joint at the 17th fret.
