Comments:

The 1979 Fender 25th Anniversary Stratocaster was Fender's first official anniversary model, released to celebrate the guitar's 1954 debut. It was the first Fender guitar produced in a pre-determined limited run (10,000 units). The first ~500 units were finished in "Pearl White," but the water-based lacquer cracked and flaked almost immediately. Most were recalled and refinished in "Porsche Silver" (Metallic Silver), which often oxidises over time into a gold or greenish hue. This model marked a return to the four-bolt neck plate and the heel-adjusted truss rod, moving away from the three-bolt "Micro-Tilt" and "Bullet" truss rod common in the 1970s.
