Comments:
The Bassman 100T was introduced in early 2012 as part of Fender's "Bassman Pro" series. It was designed to bridge the gap between the classic "Blackface" and "Silverface" tones of the late '60s and the high-gain, versatile demands of modern bassists. Unlike the vintage Bassman 100 from the 1970s, which had a simpler circuit, the 100T features two distinct channels and a suite of "smart" technology like automatic biasing, a standout feature on the rear panel that constantly monitors and re-biases the tubes for peak performance, removing the need for manual technician adjustments. It includes a Vintage channel for classic passive tone and an Overdrive channel with a modern active tone stack, allowing for aggressive, distorted sounds that weren't natively possible on earlier models. This head includes an internal power soak, allowing you to record the full overdriven tube power amp signal via the XLR out without actually connecting a speaker cabinet—perfect for studio work. You can switch the amp from 100W down to 25W to get full tube saturation at lower volumes, or use the "Silent" mode for direct recording.
