Comments:

Introduced in 1956, the Fender Musicmaster was Fender's first 3/4 scale "student" guitar, designed to be an affordable, entry-level instrument. By 1979, the model had moved away from its original 22.5-inch scale to a slightly longer 24-inch scale, sharing its body shape and many components with the popular Fender Mustang. Unlike the dual-pickup Duo-Sonic or the vibrato-equipped Mustang, the Musicmaster remained a minimalist "hardtail" guitar with a single pickup. This 1978 version is distinguished by its S8 serial number located on the front of the headstock rather than the neck plate, a transition that occurred around 1976.
