Most International Colour Series guitars were actually assembled and sold in 1981 using leftover 1979-serialized necks and bodies. The series featured seven unique, bold finishes named after global locations: Arctic White, Morocco Red, Maui Blue, Monaco Yellow, Capri Orange, Sahara Taupe, and Cathay Ebony. These were some of the last Stratocasters produced at Fender's original Fullerton, California factory before the company was sold in 1985.
