Comments:
This model is a faithful reissue of the 1968 all-rosewood Telecaster custom-built for George Harrison, which he famously used during the Beatles' rooftop concert and the Let It Be sessions. The "TL69" refers to the 1969 reissue style, while "115" originally indicated its price in Japanese Yen (115,000 Yen). This was the top-tier version of the model available at the time. Early Japanese Fender "A-prefix" serial numbers are highly sought after by collectors. Unlike the extremely heavy solid-rosewood originals, the TL69-115 features a chambered construction with a thin maple "sandwich" layer between rosewood sections to reduce weight while maintaining the iconic look. These early reissues are often considered superior to contemporary US versions due to the high quality of rosewood available to the Fujigen factory in the 1980s, paired with USA-made vintage-style pickups and electronics.
