The RF-65 is the cornerstone of the Angel Series, first introduced in the late 1980s to offer a more compact alternative to standard dreadnoughts. Its unique "RF" body shape is an original K. Yairi design, slightly smaller than a standard 000 or Auditorium guitar, making it highly regarded for its ergonomic feel. A signature K. Yairi innovation, this model uses a thin, clear pickguard that protects the spruce top without obscuring the wood grain or the sunburst finish. Despite being an entry-point for the professional Angel Series, the RF-65's bracing is hand-scalloped by Yairi luthiers to maximize the resonance of the smaller body.Â
