Comments:
The D-35 was introduced in late 1965 to address a shortage of Rio rosewood pieces large enough for a standard two-piece back. By using three smaller pieces, Martin could continue using their dwindling stock of this high-quality rosewood. It was designed with 1/4" top bracesāthinner than the 5/16" braces used on the D-28 at the timeāgiving it a more resonant, bass-heavy character. It was the first Martin dreadnought to feature a bound fingerboard, a detail originally intended to position it as a more "premium" model than the D-28. This particular model is in great condition and plays very well, with a few repairs and replacements to mention: a replaced pickguard and bridge, a refret and a neck reset.
