The Stagg 20 BA is a compact 20-watt solid-state combo amplifier designed specifically for electric bass guitar. It is part of Stagg's entry-level "BA" series, which aims to provide high-quality practice tools for beginners and students. Stagg positioned the 20 BA as the "smaller brother" to the 40 BA model. It was designed for home practice and small-volume jam sessions, featuring a rugged build with a metal front grille that became a signature look for the series. Unlike many budget amps, the 20 BA includes a dedicated compression control to help smooth out the dynamics of bass playing, which is particularly helpful for beginners learning consistent finger-style techniques. It was one of the early budget practice amps to standardise a stereo mini-jack input, allowing players to jam along to music from CD or MP3 players.
